Almost no one is being paid for the acceleration itself. What's being rewarded, quietly and consistently, is something else: the ability to choose when not to move fast.

not experiencing "busy." You are experiencing a day engineered, tile

winning by using AI more. They're winning by using it with boundaries

- Daily
routines: Use AI for the
repeatable, low-judgment layer of a routine (meal planning, travel
logistics, budget tracking) precisely so the high-judgment layer of your
day, the decisions that actually require your discernment, has more
room, not less.
The common thread: AI should absorb repetition so a person can reclaim

Does slowing down actually hurt output? Not according to the workers already doing it
well. Microsoft's power users, those engaging with AI several times a week
inside a structured routine reported meaningfully higher creativity, focus,

full day, but they can protect one 90-minute window from every notification.
